😋🍌 Irresistible Banana Walnut Dream Cake
Ingredients:
- 3 cups all-purpose flour
- 1 1/2 teaspoons baking soda
- 1/4 teaspoon salt
- 1 cup unsalted butter, room temperature
- 1 1/2 cups granulated sugar
- 1/2 cup brown sugar, packed
- 3 large eggs
- 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
- 1 cup sour cream
- 4 ripe bananas, mashed
- 1 cup walnuts, chopped
- 1 1/2 cups cream cheese frosting
- 1/2 cup banana slices (for garnish)
- 1/4 cup walnuts (for garnish)
Directions:
- Preheat the oven to 350°F (175°C). Grease and flour three 9-inch round cake pans.
- In a medium bowl, whisk together the flour, baking soda, and salt. Set aside.
- In a large mixing bowl, beat the butter until creamy. Gradually add the granulated sugar and brown sugar, beating until light and fluffy.
- Add the eggs one at a time, beating well after each addition. Stir in the vanilla extract.
- Gradually add the flour mixture to the butter mixture, alternating with the sour cream, beginning and ending with the flour mixture. Mix just until combined.
- Fold in the mashed bananas and chopped walnuts.
- Divide the batter evenly among the prepared pans. Bake for 25-30 minutes, or until a toothpick inserted into the center comes out clean.
- Cool in the pans for 10 minutes, then turn out onto wire racks to cool completely.
- Spread the cream cheese frosting between the layers and over the top and sides of the cake.
- Garnish with banana slices and walnuts before serving.
