Mongolian Ground Beef Noodles

Ingredients:

  • 1 lb ground beef
  • 5 cloves garlic, minced
  • 1/3 cup brown sugar
  • 1/4 cup beef broth
  • 1/3 cup soy sauce
  • 3 tablespoons hoisin sauce
  • 1/2 teaspoon ground ginger
  • 1/2 teaspoon ground black pepper
  • Pinch of red pepper flakes (optional)
  • 10 oz linguine
  • 1 tablespoon cornstarch
  • 2 tablespoons water
  • 4 green onions, sliced

Instructions:

  • Cook the Pasta:
  • In a large pot of boiling water, cook the linguine according to package directions. Drain and set aside.
  • Cook the Ground Beef:
  • In a large skillet over medium-high heat, brown the ground beef until no longer pink. Drain any excess fat if necessary.
  • Add the minced garlic and cook until fragrant, about 1 minute.
  • Prepare the Sauce:
  • To the skillet, add the soy sauce, beef broth, brown sugar, hoisin sauce, ground ginger, black pepper, and red pepper flakes (if using). Stir to combine.
  • Thicken the Sauce:
  • Dissolve the cornstarch in 2 tablespoons of cold water, then add this mixture to the skillet and stir.
  • Bring the mixture to a gentle boil, allowing the sauce to thicken.
  • Combine Noodles and Sauce:
  • Add the cooked linguine to the skillet and stir to coat the noodles in the sauce.
  • Let the noodles sit in the sauce for 2-3 minutes to absorb the flavors.
  • Serve:
  • Top with sliced green onions and serve immediately.
  • Enjoy your Mongolian Ground Beef Noodles
