Blueberry Chocolate Lavender Dream Cake
Ingredients
  • 1 1/2 cups all-purpose flour
  • 1 1/2 tsp baking powder
  • 1/2 tsp baking soda
  • 1/4 tsp salt
  • 1/2 cup unsalted butter, softened
  • 1 cup granulated sugar
  • 2 large eggs
  • 1 tsp vanilla extract
  • 1/2 cup sour cream
  • 1/2 cup whole milk
  • 1/2 cup cocoa powder
  • 1 cup fresh blueberries
  • 1 tbsp dried culinary lavender
  • 1/2 cup blueberry jam
  • 2 cups cream cheese frosting
  • Fresh blueberries and lavender sprigs for garnish
  • Chocolate ganache (optional)
Instructions



  • Preheat Oven
  • Preheat the oven to 350°F (175°C) and grease two 8-inch round cake pans.
  • Mix Dry Ingredients
  • In a medium bowl, whisk together the flour, baking powder, baking soda, salt, and cocoa powder.
  • Cream Butter & Sugar
  • In a large bowl, beat the softened butter and granulated sugar until light and fluffy. Add the eggs one at a time, mixing well after each addition, then mix in the vanilla extract.
  • Combine Mixtures
  • Gradually add the dry ingredients to the butter mixture, alternating with the sour cream and milk. Mix until just combined, being careful not to overmix.
  • Add Blueberries
  • Gently fold in the fresh blueberries. Divide the batter evenly between the prepared cake pans.
  • Bake
  • Bake in the preheated oven for 25-30 minutes or until a toothpick inserted into the center of the cakes comes out clean.
  • Cool & Frost
  • Allow the cakes to cool on a wire rack. Once cool, spread a layer of cream cheese frosting on top of one cake layer, then place the second layer on top. Frost the top and sides of the cake with lavender-infused cream cheese frosting.
  • Garnish
  • Garnish the cake with fresh blueberries, lavender sprigs, and a drizzle of chocolate ganache if desired.
